Projects: North Eastern Ontario (biomass)

Gilead Power is currently working in partnership with a North Eastern Ontario municipality to develop a biomass energy generating facility utilizing wood waste fibre from tree harvesting operations. In June 2006, Gilead Power signed a memorandum of understanding with this Township and wood fibre residue recycling operator to investigate the feasibility of developing a 10 – 25 MW generating facility. The agreement gives Gilead exclusive access to fuel for use in a biomass facility.

A forest inventory and a electrical interconnection study are currently underway. Based on the results of those studies, Gilead Power will initiate further engineering and environmental studies to determine feasibility of the project.
